She told the Huffington Post “I decided to replace the brush by what nature has to offer, such as leaves, fruit peels, or just the food”. She also pointed out that she doesn’t plan her work in advance, she lets her imagination and the moment take control. Giulia employs edibles to recreate the sea, animals and portraits.

Vincent Van Gogh once said, "What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?". For illustrator Maria A. Aristidou it would be unthinkable. She began her career creating paintings with coffee and has now turned her focus to exquisite cakes. Aristidou paints famous masterpieces on edible cakes. Each of her projects takes between 6 to 10 hours of work, depending on the cake size and design.
